This Tutorial was written by Pints on the 13th August 2008, any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely a coincidence.

What you do with your finished tag is up to you, you may offer for tags etc - but no money gain.

Supplies Needed:-
Paint Shop Pro, any version should work, I used 9.
Animation Shop
Scrapkit called Live N Learn by Nitwits & Little bits.
It’s a paid kit
Tube of choice I used the gorjuss work by Suzanne Woolcott
Font of choice I used 2Peas Scrawl.
Mask of choice I used one by WeeScotLass mask 12
Lets go!
When using scrap kits please remember to sharpen when you resize if needed.
Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen. Sometimes it looks better when you sharpen other times not so good.
Open new canvas 600 x 600 and flood fill white.
Open paper of choice for the mask, I think one with the letters on looks good.
Resize
New raster layer/flood fill
Layers/new mask layer/from image
Choose your mask from drop down image.
(You must have your mask open in psp)
Source luminance clicked.
Click ok.
Delete mask layer.
Merge group.
Open school days circle frame
Resize
Copy/paste as new layer
Open paper of choice.
Resize
Using your preset eclipse tool width set at 40, foreground null/background paper of choice.
Draw out a circle below the school days circle frame.
Use your deform tool to drag this into place.
Convert to raster layer.
Repeat the above step, this time change your width to 50 and your paper.
Add inner bevel to the school day circle frame.
Bevel 2
Width 5
Smoothness 31
Depth 5
Anbience 0
Shininess 8
Color White
Angle 315
Intensity 38
Elevation 42
Merge these 3 layers.
Open new paper for inside frame.
Resize/new raster layer/flood fill with paper of your choice.
Click inside your frame with magic wand.
Select/modify/expand 4/invert.
Hit delete on paper layer.
Select none.
Using my tag for placement add your tubes and rest of elements.
Add drop shadows.
V&H2
Opacity 40
Blur 40
Colour black.
Resize all layers by 85%.
Add copyright.
Merge all layers visible.
Add your name using white (just for reference on size) don’t add drop shadow.
Add the chalk (just for reference on size) don’t add drop shadow.
Copy the main tag
Open AS shop and paste as new animation.
Go back to psp and copy your name.
Paste as new animation in animation shop.
For every letter of your name you need 3 frames.
So for me Pints I had 15
Duplicate you frame so you have enough.
Then grab the zoom in tool and zoom in around 6:1 so you can see the letters better.
If you don’t zoom in it will end up a mess!
This is fairly easy all you need is a bit of patience.
Click on the first frame
Grab the eraser tool, erase all the letters apart from the 1st one.
Then on the 1st one erase 2/3rds of it.
Make sure you erase properly or you will end up with white flicks in your animation.
Click on the 2nd frame, erase all the letters apart from the 1st one.
Then on the 1st one erase 1/3rd of it.
Click on the 3rd frame, erase all the letters apart from the 1st one.
This time we will leave the 1st letter complete.
Got it?
Keep on going until you get to the end of your name.
The last frame should show your name in full.
Click on the last frame, set the animation properties to 40
Animation/animation properties 40.
Click on the first frame.
Edit/select all.
Zoom back to 1:1
Now on your main tag duplicate so you have the same amount of frames as your name animation.
Edit/select all.
Now drag your animation onto your tag and place on the blackboard.
View your animation and hopefully you wont have any white flicks.
If you have - view each frame individually find which frame/s has the flicks on.
Go back to your name animation click undo and you should know which frames need you to erase the white flicks.
The all you do is undo on your main tag.
Select all on your name animation and drag it across again.
Go back to psp and edit/copy the chalk.
Open in AS, paste as new animation.
Edit/copy
Click on the first frame of your animation.
Edit/paste into current frame.
Place this on your first letter.
Then click on the second frame.
Paste again into current frame.
Placing the chalk where you finished your letter, just like you would use a pen when writing.
Repeat the above steps until you have completed.
View your animation.
When happy save as gif.
