This tutorial was written by Pints on May 17th 2008 any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental, completely my own work. Please do not take this tutorial as use it as your own, but you may print for own personal use and link to my group.
I used PSPX1 but it should work with other versions.
Thank you Dorothy for your lovely borders.
Supplies needed:-
Scrapkit by Nitwits - Aye Aye Captain. It’s a paid kit so I cant supply
Tube of choice - I used the gorjuss work by Suzanne Woolcott
Mask by Weescotlass No 147 Look under downloads for the masks.
Font of choice.
Lets go! When using scrap kits when you resize them you need to resize using smart size and then sharpen by going Adjust Sharpen or the elements get faded and don’t look as good. So when it says resize use this step, no need with papers.
Open new 600 x 600 canvas and flood fill white. With your preset tool rectangle, line width 2, foreground colour any, background null, draw out a nice size rectangle on your canvas. Convert to raster layer. We are going to use this rectangle for a guide for placement of the elements.
Open the sailing boat Resize/copy/paste as new layer. With your mover tool move this down to the bottom corner of your rectangle. Image/free rotate/12% left. Duplicate/mirror.
Open up the anchor/wheel/buttons Resize/copy/paste onto your rectangle frame, see my tag for placement.
When your happy with your frame, delete your rectangle shape and merge the frame but not the white background.
Open the bg_waves_maryfran paper. Resize/copy/paste below your frame.
Open the waves Resize/copy/paste below your frame. Repeat this twice so you have 3 layers of the waves. On the middle layer Image/mirror.
On the frame layer using your magic wand click inside the frame. Selections/modify/expand 3/invert On the paper layer and waves layers hit delete. Select none.
Copy and paste the sailing boat between the top 2 layers of waves and move to side of tag.
Add your tube.
Add drop shadows.
Open paper bg_boats_maryfran Resize/open new raster layer and flood fill.
Layers/new mask layer From the drop down menu click on WSS147 mask Source luminance clicked, click ok Delete mask Merge group.
Resize all layers by 80%.
Add copyright.
For Animation
Merge all visible/copy
Open As and paste as new animation.
Back in PSP undo With your left arrow key move the boat a little I normally press the arrow key around 15 times.
Merge all visible/copy
Paste after current animation is AS.
Back in psp keep repeating the above steps until your boat has gone both ways along the waves, on a few of the frames rotate the boat by 12% left first then right in psp so it looks like its swaying.
When you have finished view your animation and when your happy save as GIF.
Your done.
