Lily pad friends

This tutorial was written by Pints on March 28th 2008 any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental, completely my own work. Please do not take this tutorial as use it as your own, but you may print for own personal use and link to my group.

I used PSPX1 but it should work with other versions.

Supplies needed:-

Free Scrapkit by Norma of Swheat Creations.

Called Polly Wog and Friend Lily Pond.

Which can be found HERE

Thank you Norma for your lovely work.

I used the Gorjuss work from Suzanne Woolcott which can be found

HERE

Font of choice.

Heart shape of choice, any will do because we will be covering it.

Lets go!

When using scrap kits when you resize them you need to resize using smart size and then sharpen by going Adjust Sharpen or the elements get faded and don’t look as good. So when it says resize use this step.

Open new 600 x 600 canvas and flood fill white.

Copy and paste your heart shape onto your canvas.

Or draw one with your preset shape, making the background colour null, foreground colour doesn’t matter, set width at around 5.

Open your lily, resize/window/duplicate

Resize this duplicate by another 80%

Now we are going to make a frame with the lily’s.

I find the easiest way to do this is to copy and paste the large one onto your canvas first, then just hit Edit/Repeat paste as new layer quite a few times, place them around the heart with your mover tool, leaving a little space for the smaller lily.

Then repeat the above step with the smaller lily.

When your happy with the placement of the lily’s, delete your heart layer and merge all the lily’s.

Open paper of choice/resize and copy and paste as new layer below your frame layer.

Open tube of choice and paste as new layer below your frame.

On your frame layer, using your magic wand click inside your heart frame.

Selections/modify/expand/7/invert

Hit delete on your top paper layer

Hit delete on your tube layer.

Select none.

Open your frogs and ribbons/resize/image/copy/paste as new layer onto your canvas above your frame layer.

See my tag for reference for placement.

Add your name.

Add drop shadows to all your elements etc, I find it easier to do this at the end.

Vertical & Horizontal 2

Opacity 50 & Blur 5, colour black.

Add the drop shadow to the first element.

Then hit edit/repeat drop shadow on everything else.

Resize all layers by 80%.

Add your copyright.

Merge all visible.

Your done!

Thank you for doing my tutorial and I hope you enjoyed it.
